There is nothing worse than a good suggestion that by no means sees the sunshine of day.

Just this previous week, Gartner launched its Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies.  The analysis piece does an amazing job highlighting the concepts which might be spurring innovation at enterprises: “AI augmented software program engineering”, “composable networks” and “self-integrating purposes” made the checklist.

McKinsey and Company additionally printed its “Top 10 tech developments” this previous week, pointing to concepts like “next-level course of automation and virtualization”, “utilized AI” and even “Software 2.0”, a development referring to the scaling of data-rich, AI-driven purposes by way of “machine-written applications”.

Many of those concepts are large and daring. Most sound thrilling.  But some might be overwhelming for tech leaders.  The CIOs I discuss to admit that they usually really feel bombarded by such concepts each day.  If they don’t examine them on-line, they hear about them from their boss, co-workers or the consultancies their agency employed to assist them innovate.
